Chertanovo Academy director Nikolai Larin has revealed their super junior Sergey Pinyaev stunned Manchester United coaches in his second round of trials.The 14 year-old has just completed his latest fortnight at United, where Larin says he left United staff amazed.
He told Sport-Express: "They are all happy. We didn’t have full matches, as with Bury last year, but Sergey participated in mini-tournaments that included several games.
“In one such tournament, he scored five goals, in the other - nine. In the second case, he became the top scorer. At Man Utd they say that Pinyaev is the brightest player who has come to the club for an internship over the past 15 years.”
As he is 14, Pinyaev cannot immediately sign for United, but Larin is upbeat about the youngster’s chances of eventually joining the Premier League giants.
“Officially under 18 is excluded. There may be only internships once a year for two weeks. Accordingly, the next should be in 2020. However, as I understand it, some suggestions may follow from Man Utd as soon as possible. More specifically, I would not like to say at this point.”
