RIP Lemmy

There is no easy way to say this…our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it’s way down the street, with his family. We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren’t words. We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please…play Motörhead loud, play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmy’s music LOUD. Have a drink or few. Share stories. Celebrate the LIFE this lovely, wonderful man celebrated so vibrantly himself. HE WOULD WANT EXACTLY THAT. Parecia imortal :frowning:

Born to lose, live to win.

PS: Obrigado pelo concerto no Rock In Rio.

Rest in Power.

Ainda estou a digerir.

Rock band back boys’ footie team

The boys in their Motorhead kit

A young boys’ football team have got some hardcore support for their next match - from world famous heavy metal band Motorhead.

The under-10s team, called Greenbank FC, are being sponsored by the rockers. The band’s lead singer, called Lemmy, has given the boys permission to wear a black Motorhead footy kit on the pitch - complete with a scary skull logo.

Rock star Lemmy joked to the boys: “Kick everything really hard!”

Greenbank, from Lincoln, are second in their league, and will play their first match in their new Motorhead strip on 3 December. They hope to scare the opposition by running out onto the pitch to the sound of Motorhead’s biggest hit, a loud rock track called Ace Of Spades.

‘Look like fans’

Motorhead have been going for more than 30 years and have got millions of fans all over the world. Singer Lemmy met the team before a Motorhead gig in Nottingham. He told them: “You look so good in those shirts. You look like our fans.”

Shout

Lemmy doesn’t play football himself, but he’s used to standing up on stage in front of thousands of fans. He said: “Everybody gets nervous. The point is, conquering that is the first act of courage. The rest of it is just being on the field and playing.” He also had some advice to give the team for their next match: “Play the Ace of Spades really loud as you run out, and shout at them as you tackle them!”
