Hey, first of all, congradulations with the victory last night. Nice match!
Secondly, I'm from holland, so unfortunately I got to make this message in english since I dont speak Portuguese very well Wink Took me a whole lot of trouble to actually register here...

And now, the actual subject of this topic.
As you probably have all noticed last match, some guy in the audience was shouting all match long through his loud-speaker. I don't know if you enjoyed it  :?: but I can tell you a whole lot of other guys on a dutch forum were just as frustrated as I was during that match about that same song every time again:

BA LA BAMBA

Not 1 time, not 2 times, but the whole match long he kept repeating this song through his loud-speaker.
Now the fact that he is allowed to be in the crowd with that loud-speaker seems besides annoying also a bit ironical to me. During the european championships 2004 Heineken, the famous dutch beer brewer, made a bunch of cone shaped hats which could serv as a (non-electronical) loud-speaker. All the hats were taken in, because the Portuguese soccer organisation didn't allowed them.
I didn't agreed with that untill last night, after watching a whole match being annoyed all the time by just a single guy with a loud speaker, I totally understand why they aren't allowed.
But then again I wonder why nobody made a move to remove this guy from the audience this time? I mean, is that guy so important to create/improve the ambience?
I was wondering how you guys feel/felt about this matter.

In the audience. He was obviously trying to create an ambience and get the crowed to cheer with him.

I don't think he was singing that song non-stop throughout the entire match, I mean, their reportoire isn't that extensive, but I was right above them (yes, a few hundred more were chanting along) and it didn't bother me enough to notice it.

It's actually ironic you should find our supporters kind of annoying as we've had a few threads here about other clubs' organized supporters driving us crazy with their horns, sirens, or just plain high-pitched singing. Rir Muito Alto

Well, the other supporters probably weren't loud enough to be heared on television, but I was just sitting there on my couch, timing, waiting for it to happen again ....BA LA BAMBA.... oef argh

But here in holland we dont have specific persons to take the lead in singing songs.

Probably it happened cause the match was boring and he was the only one singing or in Tv you just hear him, so it can be annoying, always with the same song :?

Aurelius, first of all, welcome to our foruns, we usually treat well people from others clubs who come here in a friendly way.
Secondly, the subject of your thread, let me say quite frankly, our stadium, our fans, our players are there to win matches, not to please the other teams or their supporters. As of course, i accept the same argument when we play abroad.
Probably yesterday was not the best of the matches regarding general support, thats why the man with the loudspeaker(as you said)was to you more visible/annoying, as you wish.
His role is to be the capo(italian based expression) meaning the guy who control the chants, etc.
As to me, as a portuguese, its not that important to know why the dutch tend to bring the band with all their trompet instruments to the stadiums and other  national particularities, im tending to defend you will never understand. Why you get/got upset with that, its really beyond me.
I hope you did see their coreography at the begining and im happy that you didnt take that  also as a problem.
IF you are from AZ, congrats for the inteligence of the team tactic yesterday, it really impressed me.

Well, of course im not blaming anyone for having him as a 'capo'. I understand his position now and his function. It was just that on dutch television he sounded almost as loud as the commentator.
I was wondering if this guy was normal.
For those who speak dutch, you can read about it here http://forum.fok.nl/topic/694700 Wink

And i'm not from AZ, but i'll be looking forward to the rematch and I wish you guys and Sporting good luck  :!:

Hi Aurelius,

welcome to our Forum!

Regarding the Heineken trumpets that you mentioned (I have to of them at my house Smiley  ), they were forbidden not because of the noise but only because of the Heineken advertisement, if you remember, the Euro was sponsored by Carlsberg.

During the Euro, I took my nephew, who is half dutch half portuguese, to see the Holland - Denmark match at the Algarve stadium and I was dressing an orange t-shirt also from Heineken and they ask me to take it off at the entrance of the stadium, go figure... Of course I didn't....  Cheesy

Regarding the guy with the megaphone, if you thoght he is annoyng, you should go watch a Nacional da Madeira match at MAdeira island.

Man, they have there a high pitched siren every time the away side attacks that is completely unbelivable... That is what annoyng really means..

Cheers!

In my opinion the dutch fellow is right, it's very annoying when they spend 50% of a match signing a single chant, no matter what. They have enough chants to make it more interesting yet Juve, for the last 2 years, seems to have this "repeat to boredom" policy regarding chants which aren't even their best.

But consider yourself lucky aurelius... they seem to have left their version of the gay 0-Zone music.. you should have listened to that Smiley.
