How is F C Basel playing right now?

They aren't doing very well, cos they have lost a lot of quality over summer. We played Basel two weeks ago... and won.

I hopefully am flying to Basel soon to watch Sporting! What is the city like? And do they trade in euros or francs?

As far as I know, Euros are widely accepted in Switzerland (especially in Basel, which is by the French and German border) but shops and restaurants often practice ridiculous exchange rates which are a total rip-off... so it might be more interesting to get some Swiss francs at the airport.

But maybe our Swiss poster can tell us more.

I suspected that. But I am not going to be in Basel for more than 24 hours so is it worth trading money that I probably won't use up? I have enough Euros saved up to last me a while!

in Switzerland, it's always good to have at least a few francs! You may find a place where it's they only thing they accept!

And it's no problem to hold on to Swiss francs, after all it's a stable hard currency, while with euros, you never know these days, you may end up having to trade them for drachmas! 

Yeah that is true. But I don't wish to take, say, €30 worth of francs and then not spend it all? I don't wish to have any left over

Paying with Euro is all over Switzerland no big deal. Every shop and most of restaurants and bars accept them. If you decide to pay in Euro you'll receive your change in Swiss francs. But i also propose you guys to pay in francs. Rates for Euro are sometimes insane. But don't change your money at the airport. You should get your cash from a money machine - of course is there a fare. But its still a better deal than in a money exchange office.

Okay, I think I will take money out of the cash machine. If i do go, its not certain yet. Thanks for your help!

St. Gallen has defended leader position in Swiss league after a 2 - 0 win against Servette. We are still unbeaten after 9 days - a quarter of the season has already been played. Its an incredible performance for a promoted team! 

Next match is on wednesday vs. FC Zürich.

run, run, run! we have a run! cant describe how lucky i feel right now. next 3 points are ours. 2 - 0 in Zürich. still leader, still unbeaten (since april), 5 wins in a row, no goals against us. there arent any words for our first 10 days back in super league. we play grasshoppers on monday next. match between 1st and 2nd of our surprising championship!!!
